Terms and Conditions for Sapelo Strong

Welcome to Sapelo Strong. The following Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of https://sapelostrong.org (the "Site") and participation in the coalition’s initiatives. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Coalition Overview

Sapelo Strong is a coalition of the following five organizations:

  • The Sapelo Project

  • Allen Bailey Foundation

  • Sapelo Island Cultural and Revitalization Society (SICARS)

  • Hog Hammock Community Foundation

  • Save Our Legacy Ourself

Each organization contributes to the mission of supporting Sapelo Island’s community and preserving its cultural heritage.

2. Use of the Website

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and not to violate the rights of others, interfere with the Site’s functionality, or misuse its content.

3. Donations and Assistance

By making a donation, you agree that your contributions will be used to support Sapelo Strong initiatives, including disaster relief, cultural preservation, and community rebuilding.
Individuals or families requesting assistance understand that submission does not guarantee aid, and all requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

4. Volunteer Terms

Volunteers participating through Sapelo Strong agree to adhere to the Volunteer Policy (outlined below) and may be subject to background checks based on their role.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site, including logos, text, images, and media, belongs to Sapelo Strong or its partners unless otherwise noted. You may not reproduce or use any content without permission.

6. Limitation of Liability

Sapelo Strong, the five coalition organizations, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and volunteers shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from your use of the Site, participation in programs, or reliance on information from the Site.

7. Waiver of Liability for Assistance

By requesting or receiving assistance, you agree to waive liability against Sapelo Strong and all coalition organizations for any claims related to the aid provided.

8. Modifications to the Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of any changes.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Georgia.

DISCLAIMER: Sapelo Strong is a volunteer-based organization created for the purpose of responding to the needs of the Sapelo community and those affected or injured by the event at the Sapelo Island Ferry Dock on October 19, 2024. Sapelo Strong will endeavor to review each application and respond in a timely manner; however, Sapelo Strong cannot guarantee any applicant access to financial assistance, goods, or services and cannot guarantee a specific timeframe in which any application for assistance will be processed; further, Sapelo Strong does not offer any express or implied  warranty or guarantee of any kind regarding the quality of counseling, mental health, medical, housing, or other services or goods that may be provided in response to any application for assistance.  All applicants expressly acknowledge that Sapelo Strong and any related entities are not liable for any goods or services provided by third parties in response to this application.
